Red Hood is a complex anti-hero in the DC universe, primarily known for his violent methods of crime fighting. This persona is most famously adopted by Jason Todd, the second Robin in the main DC comic book continuity.
The character first appeared as Robin in Batman #357 (March 1983). After being brutally murdered by the Joker in the storyline, Jason was later resurrected and becomes Red Hood.
As Red Hood, Jason operates outside the boundaries set by Batman, employing lethal force and morally ambiguous tactics to combat criminals. This creates a significant conflict with his former mentor.
While Jason Todd is the most recognized Red Hood, the mantle has been used by others in DC Comics lore.
